How do I test my drink? 

Prepare your sample:  

  • Press the colorful bubble (your WiSPer is like a pipette). 
  • Insert WiSPer into your drink.  
  • Slowly release and remove it, ensuring there are no bubbles and that the chamber is full.  
  • (Please make sure to check the list of drinks WiSP is compatible with today) 
  • Insert into the console. That’s it! results will come in seconds! 
    Make sure you never empty the sample into the console! 
  • When done, simply empty the wisper wand and use again 

What do the different colors mean? 
The LED colors indicate the test result: 

  • Green: Safe to drink 
  • Red: Potential risk detected 
  • Yellow: Retest recommended 

How do I check my results? 

  • LED lights will change to indicate results.  
  • A notification will be sent to your phone.  

How do I check my analytics or past tests? 

  • Tap the notification or go to “Drink Insights” in your app for detailed analytics.  

Why is the light flashing? 
A flashing light indicates the device is processing the test. If it continues flashing for an extended period, check the app for additional details. 

How fast should it be blinking? 
The light blinks at a steady pace while analyzing. If it blinks rapidly, there may be an error—try retesting. 

How do I charge my WiSP console? Wisp charges via USB-C and comes with a charging cable. A full charge lasts for approximatly 4 hours of active use.  

Do I need to clean my Wisper wand between samples?  
For public use, we recommend wiping the WiSPer before inserting to the WiSP console between uses to maintain hygiene and ensure accurate results.  

How do I make sure my WiSPer wand stays hygienic between different devices? 
To thoroughly clean the WiSPer wand in between usage, pump water through the device 2-3 times and pipe out the excess water. 

How do I make sure my WiSPer stays hygienic between different devices?  
To clean the WiSPER and prevent potential contamination, we recommend using alcohol wipes, or soft dry cloths to wipe the wand after each use before returning it to the case. 

  • Step 1: Place the WiSPer wand in water and clean the pipette thoroughly with 2-3 pumps. 
  • Step 2: For stubborn residue, use a damp cloth first to moisten the residue and then wipe with a gentle dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals. Repeat the same rinsing method as step 1. 
  • Step 3: (Post-event) For antibacterial and sanitation repeat step 1 rinsing with Isopropyl 70% rubbing solution.  

    What happens if there are bubbles in the pipette? 
    Bubbles can affect accuracy. If you notice bubbles, re-collect the sample by slowly drawing liquid again. 

    After I test it, can I put it back in my drink? 
    No, for safety and hygiene reasons, do not return a tested sample to your drink. 

    How do I know if it’s a false positive? 
    Re-test to confirm. If results are inconsistent, contact support. 

    What if the console falls on the ground? 
    If the console is damaged, do not use it. Contact support for assistance. 

    How often do I need to replace the wand? 
    WiSPer wands are reusable but should be cleaned regularly. If damaged, replace immediately. 

    Why do we need the console? 
    The console provides advanced detection and accuracy beyond what a single wand can do. 

    How portable is Wisp?  
    The Wisp console is designed to be carried by a designated operator with a complementary band. The individual WiSPer wand is light, and compact, designed to fit easily in a small carrying case or your pocket. It has a small string to connect to your keychain for your convenience.  Make sure not to shake it too much or drop it. Never use in case of a suspected damage! 

    Does Wisp require an app?  
    Yes, Wisp requires an App to provide detailed analytics and connectivity with contacts. Wisp’s app is currently available for iOS only through a beta testing platform. Android compatibility is planned for the future. 

    What type of substances does Wisp detect?  
    Wisp can detect various drugs commonly used in drink spiking, including GHB, GBL, and alcohol. The database is continually updated to include new substances. CHECK OUT THE MOST UPDATED LIST

    Does Wisp work on all drinks?  
    Wisp works on a range of beverages, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. CHECK OUT THE MOST UPDATED

    What type of data can I access from Wisp?  
    WiSP provides detailed data about the substances detected in each sample, including alcohol presence, safety alerts, event logs, and drink history through the app. It also offers analytical insights for safety event planning. While WiSP currently detects the presence of alcohol, future updates will allow it to identify the exact quantity of alcohol and, soon, sugar content (in milligrams). 

    When will the updated version be released?  

    WiSP leads a rapid roadmap; you will be informed through your organizations’ focal point on any update in the platform. 

    The Wisp App

    What is the WiSP App? 
    The WiSP App is a tool designed to help users test for spiked drinks and track their results. It provides personal and sorority-wide scores based on testing activity, allowing users to monitor drink safety effectively. 

    How do I download the app? 
    You can get early access via TestFlight. Fill out the contact form on our website or email tali@get-wisp.com with your email to receive the download link. 

    Can I use the app without a WiSPer wand? 
    Yes! When setting up the app, select “I do not have a WiSPer.” You can always add a wand later. With the App you can use our check in/ check out and SOS features, but not test your drink. 

    How do I change my privacy/notification settings?
    Go to Notification Settings (people and arrow icon top right), toggle your preferences. You can edit who will receive your notifications and decide whether you’d like to anonymously share your data with your community to help fight drink spiking.

    How do I pair a new WiSPer wand? 

    1. Go to My WiSPer in the app. 
    2. Select Pair New WiSPer and follow the instructions. 
    3. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled for successful pairing. 
    4. When entering the app, select “I have a WiSPer wand” and sync it by placing the RFID to the back of your iPhone. 

    Can I test my drink without “wisping in” to an event? 
    Yes! WiSP’s drink detection technology can be used as long as your WiSPer device is connected to the app. 

    How does the WiSPer Score work? 

    The WiSPer Score measures how frequently a user tests drinks for safety: 

    • Your Score – Based on individual testing activity. 
    • Sorority Score – A collective measure based on all drink tests within a sorority. 

    Higher scores indicate consistent testing, while lower scores suggest fewer recorded tests. 

    How can I improve my WiSPer Score? 
    Test drinks regularly using the WiSPer device. Consistent usage will increase both your individual and sorority scores. 

    Where can I see my past test results? 
    You can find your test history in the app under: 

    • Your Score – Individual results. 
    • Sorority Score – Collective results. 
    • Your Events – Active, scheduled, and past events. 

    What is the “Your Events” section? 
    This section tracks past and upcoming events where drink testing has occurred, allowing users to contribute to safer social environments. 

    Who can see my attendance at an event? 
    Only Operators, Admins, and other attendees can see your attendance. 

    How can I become an Event Operator? 
    Event operators are assigned the the organization leader. Contact your president for more info.

    How do I create an event? 
    Only operators can create an event. If you’re an operator, you’ll have a purple badge at the top.

    1. Go to Your Events in the app. 
    2. Select Create Event and enter event details. 

    Support & Troubleshooting   

    What should I do if Wisp isn’t working properly?  
    Refer to the troubleshooting guide in the app, or contact our support team at [support email/phone]. @tali please take this with Dor and Yokhai 

    How do I update Wisp’s app or device software?  
    For the beta version, the app updates automatically through the TestFlight app. If the update doesn’t happen automatically, open TestFlight and you should see an “Update” option next to the app. Once the app is live in the App Store, updates will be automatic.

    What should I do if my console is broken?  
    If your console is damaged or malfunctioning, please contact support immediately. Do not use a scratched or broken console, as it may affect the accuracy of results and overall safety.  

    How do I ensure my WiSP is working correctly?  
    To ensure your device is working properly please proceed with the calibration sequence below: 

    • In a cup, mix 12 tablespoons of water (3 ounces) with 1 teaspoon of 70% isopropyl alcohol rubbing solution. 
    • Take your WiSPer wand and fill the pipette with the mixture. 
    • Place in the WiSP console 
    • You should receive a notification that says “Calibration Successful”

    What is WiSP? 

    Wisp is a portable device and app designed to enhance safety and confidence in social settings. It leverages validated lab technology to provide real-time drink safety detection, helping identify potential drink spiking on the spot. The app also includes Check-In & Out, SOS alerts, and friend connectivity—ensuring you stay connected and secure while out. While Wisp’s first focus is on drink safety, its technology has the potential to expand to detecting allergens and other risks in the future. 

    How does Wisp work?  

    WiSP uses advanced optical technology called Raman Spectroscopy, infused with additional technologies, to analyze drinks for harmful substances. Results are displayed on the device console by LED, and synced to the app for additional features like notifications and event safety coordination.  

    Who is Wisp for?  
    Wisp is ideal for individuals, sororities, fraternities, bars, clubs, festivals, and anyone who prioritizes safety in social events.  

    Why is Wisp important?  

    Wisp addresses growing concerns about drink spiking and empowers users to protect themselves and others, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility. Unlike passive solutions, Wisp enables real-time safety actions, such as alerting emergency contacts if a risk is detected. Additionally, it gathers critical, anonymized data on drink tampering—helping to fill the gap in much-needed research and policy efforts to combat this issue effectively 

    Is Wisp FDA-approved?   

    Wisp is a consumer safety device designed for personal use and does not fall under FDA regulation or require FDA approval. Our technology is developed with high standards to empower individuals with real-time drink safety. 

    Does Wisp work on all types of drinks?  
    Not yet, but Wisp is continuously expanding its capabilities. Contact us to get the updated list of drinks Wisp is currently compatible with. 

    What happens if a drink is unsafe?  

    Wisp will immediately alert you through the device and the app, allowing you to take action in real time. You’ll also have access to safety features like SOS alerts and emergency contacts. If your drink is flagged as unsafe, you might consider keeping the sample and reporting it to the appropriate authorities, as this can help prevent further harm and contribute to broader safety efforts. 

    How accurate is Wisp?  
    Wisp leverages cutting-edge Raman spectroscopy technology to ensure high sensitivity and accuracy in detecting substances.

    Can Wisp detect all drugs or allergens?  
    While Wisp detects a wide range of substances, it cannot detect everything. The app will provide updates as the database of detectable substances grows.
